Olly Tripodi Announced As MTV Movement Millennial Leader

Congratulations to Olly Tripodi, who has just been announced as MTV Movement’s Millennial Leader. Through OurSay, Australia’s Millennial generation (born 1982 – 2003) have voted 21-year-old Olly as their Youth Parliament trailblazer. Olly was voted above five other fantastic final candidates nationally, and will be ‘in office’ until the UN International Day of Democracy on November 14, 2014.

Olly is excited to have the chance to represent and advocate on behalf of young Australians: “I don’t think there has been an opportunity of this magnitude to make real change in Australia in our generation. Now is the time for the hard work to prepare myself for the next year. My first step is to listen carefully to what young people are saying.”

The MTV Movement campaign aims to highlight issues that are important to the young people of Australia, and to facilitate social action to improve our nation’s future. As the Millennial Leader, Olly will have access to a ‘Brains Trust’ of inspired thinkers and leaders, and will be hosted by the House of Representatives at Australian Parliament House in Canberra.
