Large-Scale Collaboration Design & Facilitation

In 2024, Collabforge partnered with The Outback Highway Development Council to design and deliver the Outback Way Forum 2025, a large-scale collaboration and codesign event that took place over two days in Canberra. The event brought together approximately 100 stakeholders to identify what is needed for the Outback Way, a new, $1.2B, 2,719km, transnational highway, to deliver benefits for regional and remote communities, First Nations, businesses, industry and the nation.

The Outback Way, connecting Cairns and Perth through Alice Springs, offers unparalleled regional and national benefits in productivity, economic development, tourism and community connectivity, but only if significant collaboration amongst hundreds of stakeholder groups is successful. Participating stakeholders included Indigenous, community, industry, business, and government, who identified key benefits of the highway and codesigned activities and actions needed to deliver them.

Based on what was learned and created as part of the Forum, Collabforge developed the subsequent, Outback Way Action Plan, a detailed planning document, designed to facilitate ongoing collaboration and participation in its delivery, by these and further stakeholders.
