Here at Collabforge, we are strong believers in learning by doing, and sharing knowledge, skills and resources. Safe to say that I checked out Eurisko Melbourne 2013 over the weekend in North Melbourne.

Eurisko Melbourne is a community-focused ‘maker’ event with a range of stalls and demonstrations for D.I.Y. (do-it-yourself), D.I.T. (do-it-together) and D.I.W.O. (do-it-with-others) enthusiasts.

Here are just some of our Collabforge friends who were at Eurisko:

Alex Gibson demonstrating ArtBox, and open software / open hardware tool to help video artists exhibit their work.

An ArtBox case being printed on a 3D printer from the Connected Community Hackerspace, a community workshop open to makers of any skill level.

The team from CityLab Melbourne, a new innovation space within the City of Melbourne, invited attendees to cocreate their ideal future city.

Asher Tan giving a talk on Bitcoin, a new kind of open source money that is poised to disrupt traditional banking systems. Asher is co-founder of CoinJar, a Melbourne startup that helps you get started with BitCoin.

And finally, here’s a video I took of David Hood demonstrating the latest in 3D-printed goodness, with Eurisko organiser Paul Szymkowiak looking on.
