Since joining Collabforge in 2009, Dale has successfully managed a number of high profile community engagement projects, including the Department of Justice’s social media campaign thanking Victoria’s 85,000 emergency services volunteers.
Dale also coordinated development of innovative iPhone & Facebook applications for the CFA (Country Fire Authority) providing real-time fire warnings and location-aware information for Victorians. Most recently, Dale initiated Collabforge’s groundbreaking work with EPA Victoria to develop an organisation-wide Web 2.0 Framework.
In his role with the City of Melbourne prior to joining Collabforge, Dale played an integral part in the Future Melbourne project as the Council’s Online Community Manager. He also the City of Melbourne’s team at the annual Local Government Managers Association (LGMA) Challenge.
Whilst at the City of Melbourne, Dale also explored and commenced a variety of Web 2.0 initiatives. These included briefings to the CEO and senior management on the implications of social media for the organisation. Dale has a firm understanding of virtual community dynamics and is passionate about the role of public participation in the planning process.
Holding degrees in Urban Planning and Media & Communications, in addition to over four years experience in local government as a Town Planner, Dale provides a unique perspective and oversight to each Collabforge project. He recently presented at the Web 2.0 in Government conference in Sydney on his experience of government and private sector approaches to social media.
